I am pleased to share that Carolina Kramer has joined the Northwood Office team in the role of Office Administrator.

Carolina comes to us from The Ballantyne where she has worked for the past eight years in a variety of capacities, most recently as Director of Front Office. Carolina is excited to join Northwood Office and extend her growth and knowledge in commercial real estate. Carolina is highly detailed, organized and brings with her excellent customer service skills.

Carolina graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to new places and participating in local community charity events. Carolina is also a dog lover and has a French bulldog in the family.

Joy Jugovic

I am excited to share Joy Jugovic has joined the Northwood Office team as Senior Property Manager. With more than 30 years of experience, Joy brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Joy will be based in Los Angeles and will oversee daily management of 800 Corporate Pointe, a 243,000-square-foot Class A office property in Culver City. As her role evolves, she will take on the management of more area properties.

Most recently, Joy was Senior Property Manager at Lincoln Property Company in Woodland Hills, CA. She managed two office buildings totaling 510,000 square feet located at LNR Warner Center.

Before that, Joy served as General Manager at RiverRock Real Estate Group, overseeing management activities of two 11-story office buildings consisting of 541,000 square feet. She also worked in this capacity at CBRE and Insignia/ESG Inc. in Pasadena. Earlier in her career, Joy worked in property management at Transpacific Development Company in Santa Monica.

Joy is a Certified Property Manager and actively involved in BOMA/IREM and local Chamber of Commerce. She is an avid Los Angeles Kings hockey fan. In her free time, Joy loves to cook, entertain family and good friends, work out and practice yoga.

Congratulations to The Ballantyne for receiving the WeddingWire 2018 Couples’ Choice Award! This award honors The Ballantyne for being in the top five percent of wedding professionals on WeddingWire. Thank you to all who make The Ballantyne a great wedding experience for our guests.

The Ballantyne Hosts Record-breaking Gingerbread Lane

The Ballantyne raised more than $12,000 to benefit Levine Children’s Hospital during its signature holiday event. Out of 70 creations, Mary, Anna and Jean Polking won the People’s Choice Award for their Cathedral entry. Attendees voted for their favorite gingerbread creation with a minimum donation of $1 to Levine Children’s Hospital.

We are excited to announce the promotions of Chris Helmick, Katie Wilber and Melinda Shelley. All three of these team members have been valuable members of The Ballantyne family, and they share a special connection. Each started at The Ballantyne in an internship role. They have all proven that through a commitment to being Top 5% and bringing with them their best attitude and effort each day, opportunities will present themselves.

Chris and Melinda have accepted the roles of Sales Managers. Each will take on specific sales territories where they will be responsible for learning about their markets, developing relationships in these markets and traveling into the markets to drive business to The Ballantyne. Chris is responsible for the Midwest, and Melinda is responsible for the Northeast.

Katie Wilber has been promoted to Conference Sales Manager and will oversee short-term opportunities that present themselves mainly from the Charlotte area and Ballantyne Corporate Park.

IT Manager Receives New Office D├ęcor While on Vacation

IT Manager Kevin Fry returned to work from a nice family vacation to find a desk shining with aluminum. When asked about the new office décor, Fry only had two things to say: “Thank you, Sam,” and, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”

Dana Rader Makes List of 2017 Biggest Newsmakers

South Charlotte Weekly listed Charlotte's biggest newsmakers from 2017, and among that list was Dana Rader for her induction into the LPGA Teach and Club Professional Hall of Fame and Mr. Bissell for the sale of Ballantyne to Northwood Investors.

Charlotte Business Journal featured Marshall Nevins in its "Who to Watch" section and Ballantyne's sale to Northwood Investors as one of the biggest stories of 2017. Mr. Bissell was also listed among the top newsmakers of the year.
